What is SATELLITE PTT?
It is any type of communication that uses a satellite as support, which is in Earth orbit and is designed to transmit and receive radio frequency signals.
Το IC-SAT100M radio system that uses the Iridium® satellite network.
Using the 66 Iridium satellites, the IC-SAT100M provides low-latency and wider communication with the most reliable network coverage.
IC-SAT100M is the world’s first satellite fixed PTT transceiver which uses the Iridium satellite communications network.
One-to-Many Communications
Unlike satellite phones, IC-SAT100M users can immediately start talking to all the
radios in the same talkgroup, with just a push of the transmit (PTT) button.
Wide Area Global Communications
The Iridium® satellite network covers the entire earth, including both poles, and can provide wide area global communications anywhere on the planet*.
Waterproof, Dust-tight and Durable Body
The IC-SAT100M provides IP67 (antenna with RF unit) waterproofing (1 m depth of water for 30 minutes) and dust-tight protection, making it ideal for use in harsh outdoor environments.
IP55 (mic), IP54 (main unit)
The radio also meets MIL-STD 810G specifications.
The operating temperature range is from –30°C to +60°C (–22 °F to 140 °F).
Real-Time Communication
Using 66 Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Iridium® satellites, the IC-SAT100M provides low-latency communication, and broader, more reliable network coverage, compared to Geosynchronous Equatorial Orbit (GEO) satellites.

1500 mW audio delivered from the internal speaker provides loud and clear communication, even in noisy environments.
Private Conversation
The IC-SAT100M provides secure conversations with AES 256-bit encryption.
Install the antenna unit (with RF unit) to the rooftop, and use the radio from a vehicle, indoors, or even from the basement

Interoperability with Conventional Radios
With a VE-PG4 RoIP gateway, the IC-SAT100M can interconnect with an IP phone, WLAN, LTE, IDAS digital*, analog transceivers and other communication systems.

Installation Examples
In-Building Use
You can flexibly install the radio and the antenna (with RF unit) with only a LAN cable (Maximum 100 m, 328 ft).
Using PoE (Power over Ethernet) capability, the main unit supplies power to the antenna unit through the LAN cable.
Connect your PoE injector or switch to extend the distance between the main unit and the antenna unit. (802.11at compatible)

Mobile Use
By attaching the antenna on the roof, you can use the radio in a vehicle.
The IC-SAT100M has Bluetooth® capability, and allows hands-free operation*, while driving.
External speaker connection and ignition sensing are possible.
Low Visibility Installation for Mobile Use
The optional AH-40 antenna provides flexible antenna installation. You can replace the supplied antenna with the AH-40, and mount it on the roof instead of the RF unit. When you use a third-party antenna cover, you can cover the AH-40 making it look more discreet.

What about communication fees?
Communication fees are typically charged at a flat rate through a monthly plan, and there are no additional call charges.
Communication fees differ, depending on the coverage area and the number of the IC-SAT100.
What is a “Talkgroup”?
Using SATELLITE PTT, you can communicate with other IC-SAT100 radios assigned to the same Talkgroup.
The coverage area of the Talkgroup is selectable from five sizes
How do I assign a coverage area?
The coverage area can be split into different coverage regions, using circles, squares, and rectangles. For example, you can assign coverage areas to Tokyo, New York and London.
Can I change my Talkgroup and/or the region within a coverage area?
Yes, you can flexibly change these settings* on the Iridium® website.
* To change the contents of a contract may require an application in advance.
Can I use the IC-SAT100 in any location?
The IC-SAT100 can be used in open spaces, like the rooftop of a building.
Receiving and transmitting may fail, depending on the satellite position or any obstacles between the radio and satellites.
Your body can also be an obstacle. Hook the radio upright on your shoulder rather than on your waist.
Can the IC-SAT100 make phone calls?
No, the IC-SAT100M is PTT (Push-To-Talk) use only.
Using the optional VE-PG4* RoIP gateway, the IC-SAT100M will be able to communicate with other networks.
* The optional OPC-2412 connection cable is required to connect to the VE-PG4.
